Graphic Design InternThe Charlotte Checkers are seeking a creative, motivated, and passionate Graphic Design Intern for the 2026-27 season. This hands-on opportunity provides valuable experience within a premier AHL hockey organization and is ideal for students or recent graduates looking to build a portfolio in sports media, graphic design, photo production, and digital content creation. All applications will be kept on file until the start of the internship program for which candidates apply.Timeline: September 2026 – April 2027 (or at the completion of Playoffs)Position OverviewThe Graphic Design Intern will assist in creating digital and print graphics for the Charlotte Checkers. This role is hands-on, fast-paced, and heavily involved in game-day entertainment, social media, marketing campaigns, and fan engagement. This is an in-office position based in Charlotte and includes required game-day availability for nights, weekends, and special events.The Ideal Candidate Will Have:Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop and Illustrator (knowledge of After Effects and Premier are a plus)Knowledge of sports design trends and social media content stylesStrong understanding of typography, layout, and brandingAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlinesExcellent communication and teamwork skillsWillingness to work nights, weekends, and game daysBasic motion graphics or video editing experience is a plusPortfolio or samples of previous design work requiredAs a Graphic Design Intern, Your Responsibilities May Include:Design graphics for social media, video boards, marketing campaigns, promotions, and sponsorship activationsAssist with game-day creative needsCreate player graphics, hype graphics, score updates, promotional materials, and themed-night brandingSupport the marketing and creative teams with content ideation and executionEdit and resize graphics for multiple platforms and formatsHelp maintain brand consistency across all creative materialsCapture and organize creative assets during games and events when neededInternship Requirements:Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Digital Media, or a related fieldHousing and transportation in Charlotte or the surrounding areaAvailability to work home games, select road games, and designated office hoursWorking knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, particularly After Effects and Premiere ProAbility to meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality creative standardsCompensation: This is a non-paid internship. School credit may be earned if applicable.
