HousekeeperHousekeepers are responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness at a boarding school and sports training destination located on a 400-acre campus.Key Responsibilities:Perform advanced cleaning and sanitation tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing, vacuuming, disinfecting, and other duties to maintain a clean and safe environment.Learn, operate, and maintain floor machines, vacuums, scrubbers, buffers, extractors, and other specialized cleaning equipment safely and efficiently.Complete routine and repetitive housekeeping duties with attention to detail and consistency across all assigned areas.Provide laundry services for dormitories and commercial facilities, including washing, drying, folding, sorting, and distributing linens and personal itemsMonitor, restock, and maintain cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment, reporting shortages or malfunctions promptly.Collect and remove trash and bulk materials, working with team members or equipment for items that exceed safe lifting guidelines.Maintain accurate cleaning logs, inspection reports, and other documentation in compliance with departmental standards.Organize and maintain housekeeping carts, storage areas, laundry rooms, and equipment for efficiency and safety.Follow all safety procedures, including proper handling, labeling, and use of chemicals, ensuring adherence to OSHA and company standards.Identify and report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or equipment repairs, assisting as needed to resolve them promptly.Conduct routine inspections of assigned areas to ensure cleanliness, safety, and compliance with quality standards.Respond professionally to guests, students, or staff cleaning requests and special needsTrain, mentor, and support less-experienced staff on cleaning techniques, equipment operation, and safety practices.Collaborate effectively with all department leadership and internal departments to support efficient operations and continuously enhance the overall campus experience.Other duties as assigned by management.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certifications in housekeeping, custodial services, laundry operations, or facilities management is a plusProven customer service orientation, with ability to interact professionally and courteously with guests, students, and staffDemonstrated attention to detail and commitment to high cleanliness and presentation standardsAbility to work independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and perform duties with minimal supervision.Working knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, chemicals, and best practices; experience in institutional, campus, hotel, or healthcare environments preferred.Physical Demands & Work Environment:Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and pull equipment, supplies, or materials weighing up to 50 pounds.Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, stretch, and perform repetitive movements for extended periodsAbility to work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions.Ability to work on multiple surfaces, including stairs, hard floors, turf, grass, courts, and walkwaysManual dexterity required to safely operate housekeeping, custodial, and laundry equipmentFrequent movement across campus, including stairs and elevatorsAbility to use standard office and mobile technology for reporting and documentationAbility to work flexible schedules, including day, evening, overnight, weekends, and holidays as neededBackground Requirements:Requires a background check upon offerRequires a drug test upon offerThis position requires a Florida Level 2 Background Screening.
