Job Title: Technical Sales Specialist - Material Handling – 3-Year Career Development Program (Commercial Material Handling & Automation)

Stac Material Handling (est. 2004) is hiring a Technical Sales & Support Specialist for our structured 3-Year Territory Manager Development Program in Cleveland, OH. Working directly alongside a Senior Territory Manager, you will gain hands-on experience in every phase of the sales and project lifecycle—from site surveys, system design, and estimating to customer presentations and project installations.

This program offers 1-on-1 mentorship, technical certification, exposure to cutting-edge robotics and AS/RS automation, and a clear path to promotion as a full Territory Manager with uncapped earning potential.

Program Roadmap

• Year 1: Foundation & Learning
• • Shadow Senior Territory Managers on customer visits, site surveys, and facility walk-throughs.
  • Master material handling products (conveyors, industrial robotics, AS/RS, pallet racking, mezzanines).
  • Learn CRM management, lead qualification, and basic proposal/quote preparation.
  • Coordinate project logistics, execution schedules, and installation support.
• Year 2: Technical Sales & Account Leadership
• • Manage smaller customer accounts and sales opportunities independently.
  • Lead site surveys, gather technical project specifications, and build customer solution quotes.
  • Deepen account management, presentation, and strategic territory planning skills.
• Year 3: Territory Ownership & Transition
• • Independently prospect, manage, and close major customer accounts within your assigned territory.
  • Lead complex sales opportunities from initial discovery to final system commissioning.
  • Prepare for full promotion to Territory Manager with expanded territory control and bonus/commission structures.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Sales & Business Development: Partner with senior leadership to grow assigned territories through prospecting, customer site visits, proposal development, and CRM tracking.
• Project & Solution Engineering: Participate in customer discovery meetings, gather application requirements, review CAD layouts, and evaluate vendor/supplier quotes.
• Execution & Installation: Coordinate project timelines, vendor deliveries, and installation support to ensure complete customer satisfaction and project sign-off.
• Professional Advancement: Participate in vendor technical training, industry trade shows, and hands-on learning with integrated packaging, conveyor, and robotic systems.

Qualifications & Requirements

Required:

• Education: Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Business, Construction Management, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• Experience: Recent graduate or 0–3 years of experience in technical sales, project support, or industrial operations.
• Technical & Soft Skills: Mechanical aptitude, strong problem-solving skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Mobility: Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally throughout the assigned regional territory.

Preferred:

• Internship experience in industrial manufacturing, automation, material handling, engineering, or sales.
• Basic familiarity with AutoCAD, SolidWorks , or system design layout tools.
• Exposure to warehouse operations, conveyor systems, or robotics.
