Job Opportunity

Position Overview

We are seeking experienced ICU Float Nurses for a 12-hour night shift position. This role requires flexibility as nurses will float between Medical HVCC, SICU, and IMC units. The facility accommodates a wide range of critical care patient needs.

Unit Description

The Medical ICU comprises 32 beds and is also licensed for Neuro Critical Care patients. The unit is spread across two floors and generally has strong staffing levels.

Expected Patient Ratios

• 1:2 or 1:1 ratio, depending on patient acuity

Patient Cases

Nurses in this unit can expect to care for patients with conditions including:

• Sepsis
• End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD)
• Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) requiring Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) or Continuous Venovenous Hemofiltration (CVVH)
• Post-cardiac arrest care
• Respiratory failure

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in a Level 1 ICU setting or 2 years of ICU experience preferred
• Preferred experience in a Medical ICU

Required Certifications

• NIHSS
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) - both through the American Heart Association

Additional Information

The ideal candidate will be a strong ICU nurse with a solid background. Candidates with only one year of experience, particularly new graduates, may be too early in their career for this position.

Location

This position is located in a facility within 90 miles of a major city in Massachusetts.

• Shift Timing: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
