Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Peoria, Illinois. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 08/31/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Job Summary The organization is seeking a qualified ICU Medical (Intensive Care Unit Medical) nurse for a 12-hour day shift position. The role involves providing critical care to patients with diagnoses such as Sepsis, ARDS, Pneumonia, AKI, ETOH withdrawal, and Overdose within a hospital ICU setting. Job Details Certifications and Requirements: Active Illinois license or confirmation of application initiation, BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS (American Heart Association), and a minimum of 1 year of clinical experience. Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, minimum 36 hours per week. Duties: Interpreting EKG strips, managing arterial lines and central lines, caring for ventilated patients, titrating vasoactive and cardioactive drips, reading telemetry strips, and troubleshooting equipment. Operational Details: The unit maintains a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 RN to 2 patients, with additional support from nurse aides/patient care techs, hospitalist or intensivist staffing 24/7, and telemetry monitoring. Floating to lower care levels may be required. Orientation and Training: A comprehensive orientation including Epic system training, shadowing, and preceptor support totaling 24 hours. Additional Requirements: Must produce a negative drug screen as part of facility compliance. Additional submission requirements include the last four digits of SSN and confirmation of ongoing licensure application.
