Job Details Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (Travel RN) Specialty: Cardiac Stepdown / Intermediate Care / Telemetry Stepdown Setting: Acute Cardiac Stepdown Unit Location: Peoria, IL 61637 Start Date: 9/14/2026 Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Schedule: Every other weekend and every other holiday rotation Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130–$2,250 Charting System: EPIC Job Requirements At least 1 year of nursing experience required Prior ICU or intermediate/stepdown nursing experience required; telemetry-only experience is not sufficient Experience caring for tracheostomy and ventilated patients required Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated Current BLS certification required ACLS certification preferred Ability to titrate cardiac and critical care drips in an acute care setting Comfort working in a 3:1 nurse-to-patient ratio environment Ability to work nights, weekends, and holiday rotations Responsibilities Provide safe, high-quality care to cardiac stepdown patients with complex cardiac and medical needs Monitor patients using bedside telemetry and Philips monitoring systems Titrate drips such as Cardene, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Heparin, and select vasopressors as ordered Care for patients with COPD, CHF, diabetes, sepsis, renal conditions, DKA, pneumonia, and other acute diagnoses Support patients requiring BiPAP, CPAP, tracheostomy care, ventilator support, chest tubes, G-tubes, NG tubes, PICC lines, and central lines Collaborate closely with charge nurses, house supervisors, and patient care techs to support unit flow and patient safety Float as needed within the appropriate level of care based on experience and unit needs Document accurately in EPIC and deliver compassionate, patient-centered nursing care Apply now for this travel nursing job in Peoria, Illinois, and take the next step in your Registered Nurse career today.
