Job Details Setting: Cardiac Stepdown / Acute Care Job Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) Assignment Assignment Length: 13 weeks Start Date: 09/14/2026 End Date: 12/14/2026 Schedule: 12-hour day shifts Hours: 36 hours per week Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday rotation Charting System: EPIC Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,130 - $2,250 Location: Peoria, Illinois 61637 Registered Nurse Job Requirements Minimum 1 year of recent ICU or Intermediate/Stepdown experience required Progressive care or telemetry experience alone is not sufficient Experience caring for tracheostomy and ventilator patients required Ability to titrate drips in a stepdown or acute care setting BLS required ACLS strongly preferred Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated Ability to work with a diverse patient population in a high-acuity healthcare environment Responsibilities Provide safe, high-quality patient care for cardiac stepdown and acute care patients with medical and surgical needs Manage patients with conditions such as CHF, COPD, sepsis, DKA, renal issues, pneumonia, and other complex diagnoses Monitor and titrate medications including Cardene, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Heparin, and selected vasopressors Care for patients requiring BiPAP, CPAP, tracheostomy support, ventilator support, chest tubes, and central access devices Work collaboratively with charge nurses, house supervisors, and patient care techs to support efficient unit flow Float as needed within appropriate levels of care based on clinical experience Document accurately in EPIC and follow unit protocols and safety standards Deliver compassionate, patient-centered nursing care in a dynamic travel nursing assignment Apply now for this Cardiac Stepdown RN travel nurse opportunity in Peoria, Illinois.
