Job Details Type: Travel Registered Nurse Specialty: Telemetry / Cardiac Telemetry / Acute Care Setting: Acute care telemetry / cardio-thoracic unit Location: Peoria, IL 61637 Start Date: 09/14/2026 End Date: 12/14/2026 Duration: 13 weeks Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130-$2,250 Hours: 36 hours per week Shift Duration: 12-hour day shifts Schedule: 0700-1930 Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend Holiday Requirement: Holiday rotation as assigned Charting System: EPIC Floating: May float to other general medical units Job Requirements Active Illinois RN license, or confirmation that the application process has been initiated Minimum 1 year of Registered Nurse experience required Telemetry, cardiac, or acute care nursing experience strongly preferred BLS certification required ACLS certification recommended Ability to interpret EKG rhythms and monitor telemetry strips independently Experience titrating medications and managing Cardizem and heparin drips Comfort working with adult cardio-thoracic and telemetry patients Strong assessment, communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills Must be able to meet facility onboarding and drug screen requirements Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to adult telemetry and cardio-thoracic patients Assess, monitor, and respond to changes in cardiac and respiratory status Interpret EKG rhythms and communicate critical findings promptly Titrate ordered drips safely and accurately according to clinical protocols Care for patients with conditions such as MI, CHF, atrial fibrillation, COPD, pacemakers/AICDs, and post-lung surgery needs Collaborate with charge nurses, monitor techs, respiratory therapy, and the care team Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress in EPIC Support safe, efficient patient flow and assist with floating to general medical units when needed Maintain professional communication and deliver patient-centered care throughout every shift Location Highlights Peoria offers a welcoming Midwest setting with a strong healthcare community, scenic riverfront areas, local dining, parks, and cultural attractions.
