Store/Tienda #16 - 3925 Palm Ave., Hialeah, 33012 – Shift: Afternoon (Part‑Time) The duties of this position are performed in accordance with Sedano’s Supermarkets’ goals, values and operating principles, and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Employees must follow all departmental and company policies, keep the store stocked and organized, and wear the proper uniform or dress code. Position Summary The Produce Clerk primarily cuts, portions and/or weighs fresh produce, packs it in the appropriate container, labels it, and places it on display for sale. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Cut, weigh and package produce (e.g., papaya, melons, pineapples, apples, beans). Place produce in trays, plastic bags, or clear containers for proper display. Stock, rotate and maintain freshness and date control of department products. Operate equipment such as knives, scales, wraps, and preparation equipment. Retrieve, load and unload products from storage to prep room and to displays. Greet, assist and thank customers in a prompt, courteous and friendly manner. Keep work area clean, orderly, and free of safety hazards; maintain awareness of floor conditions. Report accidents, maintenance and safety issues, and attend departmental meetings. Maintain punctuality and good attendance per company policies. Perform other job‑related duties as required. Secondary Duties And Responsibilities Perform general cleaning duties (mopping, sweeping). Assist in unloading delivery trucks. Assist the manager on duty with any area throughout the store as needed. Minimum Requirements – Education and Experience High school diploma or GED (preferred). Minimum age 18. Competencies, Skills and Qualifications Proper use of department equipment (knives, wrappers, scales). Adequate knife handling and speed. Good interpersonal skills. Proficiency in English and Spanish (preferred). Ability to work scheduled hours, holidays, and weekends. Basic mathematical skills for weights and measures. Physical Demands Stand for extended periods, walk, reach, use hands repeatedly, and use sense of smell. Stoop or bend, haul carts, movemement of goods, twist back and neck, climb ladders.
