Dietary Aide

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Dietary Aide to join our team at Burlington Health & Rehabilitation Center. As a Dietary Aide, you will provide assistance in all food functions, ensuring the highest level of quality and service to our residents. You will work closely with our Dietitian/Director of Food Services to implement recommended changes and maintain a clean and safe food service environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the service and delivery of food trays to designated areas

• Clean the kitchen per established protocols and maintain a clean and tidy environment

• Prepare and deliver snacks as directed

• Serves meals in accordance to established portion control procedures

• Serves meals that are appetizing and palatable in appearance

• Assists in daily cleaning duties, including sweeping and mopping floors, washing and cleaning utensils, and maintaining food storage areas

• Reports any issues or concerns to the Dietitian/Director of Food Services

Additional Requirements:

• Treat all residents with dignity and respect, promoting and protecting their rights

• Establish a culture of compliance by adhering to all facility policies and procedures

• Follow appropriate safety and hygiene measures to protect residents and oneself

• Maintain confidentiality of protected health information

• Report any noncompliance, retaliation, or discrimination to the appropriate personnel

Personal Skills and Traits Desired:

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

• Ability to make independent decisions and deal tactfully with personnel, residents, and the general public

• Must be a supportive team member, contribute to, and be an example of teamwork

• Ability to move intermittently throughout the workday and perform physical tasks as needed

Working Conditions:

• Work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary

• Subject to falls, burns from equipment, and/or odors throughout the day

• May be exposed to infectious waste, diseases, and/or conditions

• Must be able to work in a warm, well-lit, and ventilated area, with frequent interruptions
