What You’ll Do: Key Responsibilities

As a Medical Technician, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our practice runs smoothly and patients receive the highest standard of care. Your responsibilities will include:

Clinical Duties:

• Rooming patients and recording vital signs, medical histories, medication lists, and chief complaints.
• Performing venipuncture, blood collection, and starting peripheral IVs.
• Assisting with IV therapies, minor procedures, wound care, and incision and drainage procedures.
• Collecting and preparing specimens for in-house and send-out lab testing.
• Conducting point-of-care testing, including urinalysis, pregnancy tests, influenza tests, COVID tests, and EKGs.
• Administering medications or injections as trained and permitted.
• Maintaining and preparing examination/procedure rooms and clinical areas.
• Ensuring adherence to infection-control, OSHA, HIPAA, and patient-safety standards.
• Documenting clinical information accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).

Front-Office Duties:

• Greeting and welcoming patients with a professional and friendly demeanor.
• Managing patient check-in and check-out processes, verifying insurance, and collecting payments.
• Scheduling and confirming appointments.
• Answering and routing phone calls and assisting patients with registration forms or EHR needs.
• Maintaining an organized and professional reception area.
• Collaborating with providers and team members to ensure efficient patient flow.

What We’re Looking For: Skills & Qualifications

We’re seeking a versatile and dependable team member who is passionate about patient care and thrives in a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will have:

• Clinical Experience : At least 1 year of hands-on experience in an urgent care, medical office, emergency department, primary care, or wellness clinic.
• Technical Skills : Strong phlebotomy/venipuncture and peripheral IV placement skills, along with familiarity in vital signs, EKGs, specimen handling, and point-of-care testing.
• Flexibility : A willingness to assist with both clinical and front-office responsibilities.
• Preferred Certifications : Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician, EMT, phlebotomy, or other relevant clinical training/certification. Current BLS/CPR certification is preferred.
• Personal Attributes : Dependable, compassionate, professional, organized, and a true team player.
