Overview University Correctional Health Care (UCHC), part of Rutgers, provides health services to individuals involved in the criminal justice system in New Jersey. UCHC employs approximately 1,000 staff across a $150 million budget. Position Part‑time Technician I (10 % load) at Edna Mahan Correctional Facility, Clinton, NJ. Responsibilities Take vital signs, height and weight and document in EMR. Assist physician/associate practitioner with procedures and exam prep. Collect and handle specimens, including drawing blood. Clean, sterilize, and secure equipment in the Health Service Unit. Maintain supply stock; order timely. Maintain supply stock in examination rooms. Aggregate medication orders and forward to pharmacy provider or local pharmacy. Compensation and Benefits Hourly rate: $20.41–$21.54. Qualifications Minimum education and experience: Valid CMA, EMT, or CNA certification. At least 2 years of progressively responsible healthcare experience. Certifications / Licenses CPR certification. Valid driver’s license; must possess own vehicle or transportation to multiple sites. Physical Demands and Work Environment Must be able to perform CPR for at least 10 minutes. Able to lift/rotate patients up to 50 lb. Special Conditions Must be approved by the Department of Corrections (DOC) and adhere to all DOC requirements.
