Position Details Technician I – Part Time (20 hrs weekly) – Days – UCHC EMCFW (Multiple Vacancies). Department: UCHC‑Edna Mahan Corr‑Ancillary. Grade 137. FLSA: Nonexempt. Salary: $20,410 – $21,540 per hour. Working location: Edna Mahan Correctional Facility, Clinton, NJ. Full onsite, day shift. Overview University Correctional Health Care (UCHC), operating within Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, provides physical, mental, dental and sex offender treatment services to individuals in the criminal justice system. Posting Summary The Technician I participates as a member of the clinical and administrative medical team at the correctional facility. Takes vital signs, height and weight and documents in electronic medical records (EMR). Assists the physician/associate practitioner with procedures, including preparing the inmate for the examination. Obtains specimen collection and handling, including, but not limited to, drawing blood. Assists with cleaning, sterilization and securing of equipment within the Health Service Unit. Maintains or assists in maintaining the supply stock in the Health Service Unit by ordering in a timely and appropriate manner. Maintains the supply stock in the examination rooms. Aggregates the orders of all medications and forwards to the pharmacy provider / local pharmacy. Qualifications Valid Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certification required. At least two (2) years of progressively responsible related healthcare experience involving multiple areas of knowledge, skill and abilities, demonstrating competencies to perform the essential duties of the position. Certifications / Licenses CPR Certification. Valid Driver's License. Must possess own vehicle or alternative means of transportation from one site to another. Physical Demands and Work Environment Must be able to perform CPR for at least 10 minutes and lift/rotate patients who are unable to ambulate (up to 50 pounds).
