Dentist (Oral Surgeon)

Overview This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) - a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval - award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (1 to 5 years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply. Responsibilities Dentist (Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon) – serves as a practicing dentist who performs a full range of professional dental procedures in connections with the treatment of commonly encountered dental diseases or dental health problems requiring standard corrective, restorative, or preventive measures. Make oral and radiographic examinations of the oral cavity and its adjacent tissues and structures. Diagnose pathological or irregular oral conditions. Accomplish admissions, work-up, and performance of surgical procedures for patients with illnesses, injuries, and disorders of the hard and soft tissues of the oral and maxillofacial regions. Accomplish dental-alveolar surgical procedures, reduction of facial fractures, placement of dental implants, and biopsy procedures. Provide safe and effective anesthesia services in the outpatient setting, including intravenous sedation/general anesthesia. Actively participate in the General Practice Residency and Maxillofacial Implant programs. Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 07:30–16:00. Telework: Not available. Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
