Injection Molding Operator

Machine Setup and Operation: Setting up injection molding machines, including installing and adjusting molds, setting process parameters, and ensuring proper material flow.

Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Observing machine operation, identifying and resolving any issues (e.g., material defects, equipment malfunctions), and optimizing machine performance.

Quality Control: Inspecting molded parts using calipers, optical comparators, and other measuring tools to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards.

Preventive Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance tasks on machines and equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.

Material Handling: Handling plastic materials, including loading and unloading them into the machines, and ensuring proper storage and handling procedures are followed.

Documentation: Recording production data, documenting any issues or changes to the process, and maintaining accurate records.

Safety Compliance: Adhering to all safety regulations and procedures, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintaining a safe work environment.

Collaboration: Working with other team members, including supervisors, tool and die makers, and quality control personnel, to ensure smooth production flow.

Required Skills and Knowledge:

Technical Skills: Knowledge of injection molding processes, machine operation, mold setup and maintenance, and material properties.

Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and troubleshoot problems with machines, molds, and materials.

Mechanical Aptitude: Proficiency with hand tools and the ability to perform basic maintenance tasks.

Attention to Detail: Ability to meticulously inspect parts and ensure they meet quality standards.

Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights (up to 50 lbs), and perform repetitive tasks.

Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with team members and document process changes.

Safety Awareness: Understanding and adherence to safety regulations and procedures.

Work Environment:

Manufacturing Plant: Injection molding jobs are typically located in manufacturing facilities, which can involve exposure to noise, heat, and machinery.

Repetitive Tasks: Some tasks may be repetitive, requiring focus and attention to detail.

Teamwork: Injection molding operators work as part of a team and collaborate with other members of the production team.
