Operating Room Nurse

The Operating Room requires nurses for a Wednesday to Friday shift from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM. Nurses are expected to take 5-6 call shifts per month. The call options for this shift are from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, Monday to Thursday, or from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM on Sunday night. The unit features 23 beds and has over 85 staff members. Staff includes day shift charge nurses, coordinators, nurse managers, transport staff, RNs, CSTs, and OR assistants. Night shift typically has 2 nurses, 2 CSTs, an anesthesia tech, and an OR assistant. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:1. The equipment used includes EMR and Meditech. The most required skill sets for candidates are in Orthopedics, Neuro/Spine, Robotics, Plastics, and Trauma. Typical procedures performed include Neuro/Spine, orthopedic trauma, total joint replacements, revisions, and various robotic surgeries. The ideal candidate should have a strong commitment to patient care in a fast-paced environment. Dressing in scrub color of ceil blue or royal blue is required. The department operates 24/7, and call duties are mandatory. Shifts may vary between 10 and 12 hours.
