Job Details – Youngstown, Ohio Travel Nursing

• Location: Youngstown, OH 44504 (Northeast Ohio; vibrant travel nursing destination – local candidates not accepted)
• Position / Setting: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Stepdown – 8SE Neuro Unit (40 beds)
• Role: Travel Registered Nurse (PCU Nurse / Stepdown RN / Neuro RN)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (June 15, 2026 – September 14, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,800 – $1,890 (competitive travel nursing pay)
• Patient Ratios: 1:5 on nights (subject to change based on staffing)
• Note: Travelers will not be assigned to pediatric patients

Required Qualifications – Registered Nurse (Ohio)

• Active RN license in Ohio or a compact state (required)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience (required); PCU/stepdown or med-surg experience preferred
• Neuro/stroke experience preferred (Neuro RN experience a plus)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (required)
• Dysrhythmia Exam (required; study guide available)
• Experience with intermediate-level care, cardiac drips, and advanced monitoring preferred
• EPIC EHR experience and Critical Care Course preferred

Primary Responsibilities – PCU / Stepdown RN Duties

• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments and develop individualized care plans for progressive care and step-down patients
• Administer medications safely and according to hospital policies and procedures
• Coordinate interdisciplinary patient care and act as the primary RN contact for care teams and families
• Serve as a patient safety advocate and participate in quality improvement and stroke care initiatives
• Manage patients with multi-system organ failure, cardiac drips, and advanced respiratory modalities
• Respond confidently to rapidly changing patient conditions and emergencies, utilizing ACLS and dysrhythmia interpretation skills
• Apply evidence-based nursing practice and the nursing process to deliver compassionate care in a busy PCU/stepdown environment
• Maintain professionalism, cultural sensitivity, and clear communication with patients, families, and the care team
