Flexible Start Times: 8 AM–4 PM | 9 AM–5 PM | 10 AM–6 PM

HumanEdge Healthcare Staffing is seeking an experienced and confident Registered Nurse (RN) Day Supervisor for a full-time temporary assignment at a respected skilled nursing, long-term care, and rehabilitation facility in Dobbs Ferry, NY .

This is an excellent opportunity for an RN with strong clinical leadership skills who enjoys supervising nursing teams, coordinating resident care, and maintaining high standards of quality and patient safety.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on nursing professional with experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or subacute care , who can confidently oversee daily nursing operations while supporting both residents and staff.

Key Responsibilities

Nursing Leadership & Staff Supervision

• Provide direct clinical supervision and leadership to RNs, LPNs, and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs).

• Oversee daily nursing operations to ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate resident care.

• Coordinate nursing assignments and monitor staffing needs throughout the shift.

• Serve as a clinical resource for nursing staff, providing guidance, support, and direction.

• Address resident care concerns, staffing challenges, and clinical issues promptly.

• Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive working environment.

Clinical Oversight & Resident Care

• Monitor residents' clinical conditions and respond appropriately to changes in health status.

• Ensure nursing assessments, treatments, medication administration, and care plans are completed accurately and on time.

• Assist with complex clinical situations and emergencies when necessary.

• Oversee admissions, discharges, transfers, and changes in resident condition.

• Communicate with physicians, families, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary team members.

• Support the delivery of high-quality care to geriatric, rehabilitation, and medically complex residents.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

• Ensure nursing documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with facility policies.

• Maintain adherence to infection prevention, medication safety, and resident safety protocols.

• Support compliance with New York State Department of Health regulations and applicable nursing standards.

• Identify opportunities to improve nursing workflows, quality outcomes, and resident satisfaction.

• Assist with incident reporting, follow-up investigations, and corrective actions as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted New York State RN license.

• Minimum 1 year of professional nursing experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, subacute care, or a related setting.

• Previous RN supervisory, charge nurse, or nursing leadership experience strongly preferred.

• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.

• Ability to effectively supervise and support multidisciplinary nursing teams.

• Knowledge of nursing documentation, care planning, and regulatory compliance.

• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

• Availability to work a consistent full-time daytime schedule for the duration of the temporary assignment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as an RN Supervisor, Charge Nurse, Unit Manager, or Assistant Director of Nursing.

• Strong background in skilled nursing facilities or long-term care.

• Familiarity with New York State nursing home regulations.

• Experience managing nursing staff and coordinating daily clinical operations.

• Knowledge of infection control, fall prevention, wound care, and geriatric nursing.

• Proficiency with electronic medical records and clinical documentation.
