Throughout our decades of success and growth we have remained committed to our mission and values and these principles unite our people and guide all that we do.A Typical Day The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for working with the operations teams for safe, quick and accurate corrective maintenance of plant equipment to ensure the best available equipment uptime, completing scheduled preventive maintenance tasks as assigned in a timely manner, and completing all necessary documentation for tracking time and equipment maintenance history.Job ResponsibilitiesUse basic power tools, welding tools, forklift, articulating booms, etc. to complete assigned projectsRead blueprints and do layout work/sketchesUse plasma cutter for various projectsTimely analysis and repair of all breakdowns in plants using basic troubleshooting skillsTroubleshoot and wire a 3-phase motorTroubleshoot and repair 110va and 24v control wiringRebuild centrifugal and positive displacement pumpsEnsure all safety procedures are followed according to HCC safety policiesDemonstrate a high level of communication, cooperation and teamwork with production operators to maintain and repair plant equipmentProperly prioritize issues and take personal accountability to make sure all repairs fit the core valve of "Excellence"Active participation and ownership in your training and development program and associated activities, classes and events, which will be held before, during, after shifts and during scheduled days off.Help coach and train teammates and participate in on the job, buddy training.Place high priority on food safety and sanitation by understanding and executing HCC's food safety and sanitation policies and procedures.Hold self and others accountable to HCC's food safety & sanitation guidelines and policies by communicating any food safety incident, observation, or opportunity to your leadership team or teammates.Participate in food safety and sanitation root cause analysis and improvement activities when required.Prioritize safety above all other job duties by always having a safety-first approach.Report any safety issues, observations, opportunities to your teams and follow up.Participate in departmental safety teams.May be required to participate in ERT and Hazmat teams.What You Will NeedEnglish skills must be proficient to understand, read, write and speak English1 year of industrial manufacturing experience OR completion of technical programCompetent knowledge of basic hand toolsAbility to verbalize troubleshooting methodsExperience working with Microsoft Office Software such as Word, Excel and OutlookMust be able to work weekends, holidays and rotating shifts (day/swing/graveyard)Ability to lift up to 60lbsWhat Will Put You AheadHigh School diploma or GED from an accredited institutionCompletion of certificate or training program in Industrial Maintenance, Automotive or Diesel Equipment repair, or related coursework1 year SAP experience2 years of dairy manufacturing experience and 1 year of Operator based maintenance experience.4 years of Industrial Manufacturing experience and/or 2 years of Industrial, Automotive, Diesel, or Agricultural Maintenance experience.Basic knowledge of gas, TIG, MIG and arc weldingPhysical Demands & Work EnvironmentThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
