IT Financial Analyst

IT Project Manager (General) 2As an IT Project Financial Analyst II, you will provide project and portfolio financial management (budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, and reporting) across a book of IT projects. Working as part of a central, funding-aligned team, you will independently own the financial picture for assigned projects and partner closely with PMO leaders, project managers, and Finance so that project managers can focus on delivery. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role for someone fluent in project financials who is comfortable turning data into clear, decision-ready reporting.Responsibilities/Expectations:Consult on budgets, monthly forecasts (estimate-at-completion), and cash-flow / spend curves for a book of assigned IT projectsAnalyze project financial performance by understanding how to track actuals against plan, identifying variances, and provide insights and recommendations to project managers and stakeholdersManage analysis of multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks, and maintaining accurate records around complex workflowsSupport the Project Change Request (PCR) process by evaluating and quantifying financial impacts, risks, and funding requirements associated with proposed changesPartner with Finance to support capital vs. expense classification, capitalization activities, funding requests, accruals and the monthly close processMonitor project financial risks, trends, and performance indicators, proactively escalating concerns and recommending mitigation strategies for the PMO and IT leadershipMaintain financial reports, dashboards, and supporting documentation to uphold data integrity and reporting standardsEnsure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of project financial data throughout the project lifecycle while adhering to PMO governanceEducation/Experience:High school diploma/GED with equivalent experience or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related major and minimum two (2) years of experience in project financial analysis, FP&A, cost analysis, or project controlsDemonstrated experience owning budgets and forecasts for a portfolio of projectsWorking knowledge of project-accounting concepts (capital vs. expense, capitalization, estimate-at-completion forecasting)Experience with enterprise ERP / project-accounting systems (Oracle or similar)Preferred: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; hands-on experience building reports and dashboards in Power BIComfort with AI-powered productivity and analytics tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot), and the curiosity to apply them to financial analysis and reporting, is a plusOther Requirements:Strong written and verbal communication; able to partner effectively across the PMO, IT, and FinanceSelf-directed and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlinesProficiency with Microsoft 365 (Excel, Teams, SharePoint) and Power BIDemonstrates familiarity with and application of Project Life Cycle
