Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 8:00‑5:00 PM. Agency: Baptist Home Health. Territory: Lexington, Clay City, Waco, Salvisa and surrounding areas. $10,000 SIGN ON BONUS HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE As a Speech Therapist the work you do every day makes a difference in the lives of our patients. You'll be part of an interdisciplinary team that focuses on providing compassionate quality care and producing positive outcomes for your patient population. Interacting with patients' families while caring for your patients and experiencing the rewarding privilege to be part of every step of their recovery journey. MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY Plan of Care: Develop an individualized ST plan of care and make adjustments as needs change. Guide the patient in using therapeutic, creative and self‑care activities to improve functioning. Observe, record and report patient reactions, changes and progress to the attending physician and any appropriate agency staff. Patient Outcomes: Use activities and home exercise programs to improve swallowing, breathing, cognition, speech and communication, and any other speech‑therapy related function. Minimize Patient Risk: Reduce re‑hospitalizations by teaching the patient preventative measures and sound decision making. Family Educator/Advocate: Counsel patient and family on the disease/injury and how to manage all phases of speech therapy. Policies: Complete all clinical documentation following agency protocol and Medicare/Federal guidelines. Rules and Regulations: Understand and follow agency policies, procedures, rules and regulations; communicate changes in schedule or availability to schedulers or supervisors. Operations: Attend in‑service training and mandatory agency meetings. HARD & SOFT SKILLS Compassionate communicator with a positive attitude. Patience when working with patients, families, physicians, and coworkers. Attention to detail and observant following directions. REQUIREMENTS Speech Therapist with a current license in the state of employment. Minimum one‑year experience as an ST in an acute care setting. Home care experience preferred.
