EPS Engineering Lead

Hi,

We are currently looking for an EPS (Enterprise Payment System) Engineering Lead opportunity focused on enterprise payment services architecture, delivery, and operational ownership.

Details:


- Duration: 12-month Contract-to-Hire


- Conversion: This role will convert to a full-time employee (FTE) role after 12 months

- Location Preference:


1st preference: Onsite in Sacramento, CA


2nd preference: Onsite in SF Bay Area


Candidates will be reviewed in that order


- Note: Candidates from other parts of the country are acceptable if they are willing to permanently relocate, as this is intended to become an FTE role after 12 months


- Rate: DOE - competitive rates; please provide best rates

Key Responsibilities:


- Own EPS roadmap, architecture, and delivery across payment, reconciliation, exception handling, and downstream integrations


- Establish reliability, auditability, and production governance standards


- Partner with Product, Finance, SRE, and Operations teams on prioritization and readiness


- Lead engineers and contractors while driving transition toward internal ownership

Requirements:


- 10+ years of software engineering experience


- Strong background in microservices, APIs, event-driven architecture, and production engineering


- Experience in payments, settlements, reconciliation, or related financial systems - RETAIL EXPERIENCE


- Must have at least 3 years in a Lead or Engineering Management role


- Strong core Java skills
