Advertisement Closes:07/31/2026 12:00 AMPay Grade:Non-Merit GradeSalary:$7.25 - $50.00 HourlyTime Type:Full timeHealth Department:Pennyrile District Health DepartmentSummary:If you have any questions or would like any more information about this job posting please contact Kimberly Gaines at View email address on click.appcast.io:EXAMPLES OF WORK:Works under the Local Health Department to provide preventative oral health servicesOperate within the structure of state dental practice actsAddress social, environmental, and health literacy issuesProvide effective dental health educationHelp people develop goals to improve their oral healthCoordinate careHelp patients navigate the complexities of the healthcare systemProvide appropriate clinical services as neededMonitors the delivery and outcome of servicesStay informed of changes to dental insurance and healthcare systemsCompletes documentation as required (Computer literacy required)Participates in staff community and statewide workgroup meetingsPerforms related work as requiredCoordinate and perform community events as directed: Back-to-School events, Oral Health Education events, etc.KNOWLEDGES SKILLS AND ABILITES:Ability to work with a multidisciplinary teamAbility to exercise judgment and sensitivity when investigating the background of patients and determining their needsAbility to maintain confidential materialsAbility to communicate effectively orally and in writingAbility to operate office equipment (e.g., computer software, telephone, interpreter phones, copier, fax, and other electronic communication methods)Ability to gather and analyze dataMust be able to work independently on assigned tasksMINIMUM REQUIREMENTSHigh school diploma or its equivalent (required)Prior experience in dental assisting will be given preferenceMust be willing to obtain and maintain a Community Health Worker CertificatePrevious work experience participating in community outreach, conducting health promotion activities, or assisting patients with navigating the healthcare system, in a community health or social services setting.
