Custodian ILocation: Center Line Public SchoolsSalary: $15.94 - $16.85/hr. and in accordance with the AFSCME Local 2722 Master AgreementReports To: Maintenance Executive or his/her designeeQualifications:Valid Driver License.Must pass a physical.Must pass a Drug and Alcohol Screening Test prior to the awarding of this position. After position award, employee will be subject to random Drug and Alcohol Screening Test pursuant to Federal Regulation and Board Policy.Employment/Working Conditions:The successful candidate must frequently lift and/or move upwards of 90 pounds.The successful candidate will push/pull items.Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.While performing the duties of this job, the successful candidate will regularly work outdoors even in inclement weather.The successful candidate will use ladders, lifts, or scaffolds which requires working at heights upwards of 30 feet.The successful candidate will work near and with moving mechanical equipment.The successful candidate must be able to meet deadlines with narrow time constraints.The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud.Adherence to Core Competencies.Weeks Of Work: 52 WeeksLength Of Day: 8.0 HoursGeneral Duties And Responsibilities:Clean assigned area and complete work orders in a timely fashion.Load and unload supplies and equipment.Operate custodial equipment.Clean front windows, showcase windows, and door windows.Keep foyer windows & doors clean.Keep entrances clean and free of debris.Open buildings and secure/lock building entrances and gates.Clean restrooms. Empty waste receptacles.Pick up litter around building and any glass on the grounds.Removal of snow and application of material to keep parking areas, walks, etc., free of snow and ice.Police grounds and parking lots.Assist other employees in the performance of their duties.Must be available to do whatever is asked by Administrators and Department Head.As Needed:Unload trucksReplace paper towel holdersRaise and lower desksReplace toilet paper holders/seatsSupervise children at dismissalRemove graffiti inside buildingChange fusesMaintain safe environment for students and teachersWash outside windowsDeliver paperReplace pencil sharpenersMove furnitureReplace bulbsSet-up/take down activitiesOrganize use of facilityChange filters in HVAC units and resetAddress any situation that is a threat to building*This is an overview of the job responsibilities associated with this position and is not to be considered all-inclusive of those tasks which may be assigned.
