Position Summary The Senior Accountant supports MIWRC's financial operations through nonprofit accounting, grant compliance, budgeting, payroll support, reconciliations, financial reporting, and internal controls while partnering with leadership, staff, funders, and auditors.
Primary Responsibilities • Maintain the general ledger and month-end/year-end close. • Support grant billing, reimbursements, and compliance. • Process accounts payable, receivable, payroll support, and reconciliations. • Prepare financial reports and assist with budgets. • Support audits, 990 preparation, and internal controls. • Maintain accurate records and improve financial processes.
Qualifications • Required • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent experience. • Four (4)+ years of accounting experience, preferably nonprofit. • Experience with grant accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, and Excel. • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Preferred • Experience with nonprofit fund accounting. • Experience with federal, state, county, or foundation grants. • Experience with ADP, QuickBooks, Bill.com, Divvy/Ramp, Ease, or similar systems.
