CNC Mill Machinist

Mill-Turn MachinistWe are seeking a skilled Mill-Turn Machinist to set up and operate CNC mill-turn (multi-tasking) machines to produce high-quality, precision components. This position is ideal for a machinist with solid experience who can work independently, troubleshoot routine issues, and consistently meet quality and production standards.Responsibilities:Set up and operate CNC mill-turn/multitasking machinesInstall and align chucks, collets, fixtures, tooling, and live toolsLoad and qualify turning tools, milling cutters, drills, and probesSet work offsets, tool offsets, and basic probing routinesRun and make minor edits to CNC programs (G-code or conversational)Perform combined turning and milling operations including:OD/ID turning, facing, grooving, and threadingLive-tool milling, cross-drilling, and end-of-part machiningRead and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and GD&TInspect parts using precision measuring tools to ensure tolerances and finishesMake adjustments for tool wear and dimensional controlTroubleshoot common machining, tooling, and setup issuesPerform routine machine care and preventive maintenanceComplete job travelers and inspection documentationMaintain a clean, safe, and organized work areaRequirements:Qualifications:High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred3–6 years of CNC machining experience with mill-turn or multi-axis equipmentWorking knowledge of combined milling and turning processesSolid blueprint reading skills and basic to intermediate GD&T knowledgeAbility to perform independent setups with minimal supervisionProficiency with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, indicators)Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skillsPreferred Experience:Experience with mill-turn machines such as Mazak, DMG Mori, Okuma, Doosan, or similarBasic CAM experience or program editingJob shop, aerospace, medical, or high-precision manufacturing backgroundExposure to ISO, AS9100, or similar quality systemsPhysical Requirements:Ability to stand for extended periodsAbility to lift up to 30 lbsManual dexterity and attention to detailComfortable working in a machine shop environmentAcknowledgments:The above job description is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of duties and standards of the position.
