Job Position: Security Systems Superintendent (Direct Hire)

Location: Abilene, TX 78601

Pay Rate: $35-45

TradeSTAR is seeking an experienced Security Systems Superintendent to lead commercial electronic security projects throughout Abilene and the surrounding region. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing field operations, managing installation teams, coordinating project execution, and ensuring the successful deployment of large-scale access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and integrated security systems.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in electronic security systems combined with proven experience managing crews, subcontractors, project
schedules, and client relationships.

Primary Responsibilities:
Direct and supervise field installation teams performing access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, and integrated security system deployments.
Manage day-to-day field operations to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
Review project drawings, specifications, door schedules, riser diagrams, network architecture, and security system submittals.
Coordinate manpower, materials, equipment, and subcontractors to support project milestones.
Lead installation, commissioning, and turnover activities for enterprise-level security systems.
Conduct quality control inspections and ensure compliance with project specifications, manufacturer requirements, and industry standards.
Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, owners, AHJs, and other trades throughout all phases of construction.
Oversee field testing, device verification, programming support, and system acceptance activities.
Identify and resolve technical, installation, and scheduling issues impacting project performance.
Maintain project documentation including daily reports, safety records, punch lists, and closeout documentation.
Enforce company safety policies and ensure compliance with OSHA requirements and site-specific safety procedures.

Required Qualifications:
5+ years of commercial electronic security experience with demonstrated leadership responsibilities.
Previous experience managing security installation crews on large commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, government, or mission-critical projects.
Strong knowledge of access control, IP video surveillance, intrusion detection, and integrated security systems.
Experience interpreting construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and low-voltage system documentation.
Working knowledge of structured cabling, fiber optics, TCP/IP networking, and PoE infrastructure.
Familiarity with enterprise security platforms such as LenelS2, Genetec, Software House C CURE, Avigilon, Milestone, Verkada, or similar systems.
Strong leadership, communication, scheduling, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to coordinate multiple crews and project phases simultaneously.
OSHA 30 certification preferred.
Manufacturer certifications and project management experience are highly desirable.
