About the Position This position is located at Madigan Army Medical Center, Tacoma Washington. Who May Apply US Citizens. Qualification Criteria To qualify for GS‑04, candidates must meet at least one of the following requirements. General Experience : One year of general experience such as receptionist and clerical duties, greeting visitors, answering and directing phone calls, organizing files, and using office automation systems. Education : Two years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial, or technical school, junior college, college, or university. Combination of Education and Experience : A combination of education and experience may be used as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. Calculate the percentage by dividing total months of experience by 12, then dividing semester hours of education by 60, and adding the two percentages. To qualify for GS‑05, candidates must meet at least one of the following requirements. Specialized Experience : One year of specialized experience performing clerical or administrative support in a medical clinic, including greeting patients, managing phone and secure messaging systems, scheduling and coordinating appointments, maintaining electronic and paper medical records, preparing routine correspondence and reports, and supporting patient in‑ and out‑processing. Education : Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial, or technical school, junior college, college, or university. Combination of Education and Experience : A combination of education and experience may be used as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. Calculate the percentage by dividing total months of experience by 12, then dividing semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60, and adding the two percentages.
