Salary Range: $25.00 To $42.00 Hourly

Position: Counselor

The Counselor is responsible for the delivery and implementation of clinical series to a population of individuals who experience substance misuse and symptoms of mental health disorders. The Counselor serves as a member of the multi-disciplinary team and reports to the Program Coordinator, Assistant Director, or Director.

Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Essential Duties:

• Provide individual sessions consistent with client need, person-centered care, and best practices.

• Facilitate group sessions related to various topics including but not limited to: substance use, relapse prevention, trauma, life skills, stages of change, etc.

• Document all service delivery in the EHR promptly and consistent with insurance and stakeholder standards.

• Ensure that 70% of work hours are spent providing services.

• Participate in case conferences, staff meetings, as well as individual and group supervision.

• Deescalate client crises when appropriate and report all incidents to site managers.

• Complete toxicology testing consistent with OASAS and Outreach policies.

• Attend speaking engagements or tabling events.

• Maintain training appropriate to role and credential/licensure.

• Based on credential/licensure, the counselor may supervise interns.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• Minimum CASAC-T, CASAC or MSW, MHC, MFT, CAT eligible for limited permit, or an individual licensed to provide clinical and therapeutic services either independently or under supervision.

• 2-3 years of experience with substance use disorders.

• 1-2 years of experience working with individuals suffering from co-occurring disorders.

• 1-2 years of experience working in an OASAS-licensed facility a plus.

Position Status:

This is a part-time position.

Tuesday: 3pm - 9pm

Wednesday: 1pm - 9pm

Friday: 3pm - 9pm

19 hours per week.
