Med Tech Supervisor

Summary In direct coordination with the Clinical Program Manager and Residential Nurse, the Recovery Support/Med Tech Supervisor is responsible for the administration, management, and oversight of the resident milieu for clients (and their children) being served by SFRC. Provides and administers a wide range of interventions and support techniques to ensure smooth operations and a supportive living environment for clients in residential treatment, including crisis intervention, medication administration, group and individual support, and case management services. Requires strong communication skills and the ability to guide program development and daily programming with internal staff and community partners. Responsibilities Provides program development, implementation, and oversight of services for individuals with addiction and their dependent children. Works closely with the Clinical Program Manager and partner agencies to ensure a holistic view and coordination of care. Consults with other disciplines to support specific needs of clients and families; refers clients to appropriate service agencies. Coordinates with Case Managers for referrals to social service agencies and assists with financial assistance and other needed services. Oversees intake and admission processes, including program orientation for new residents. Provides training, supervision, and management of supervisees; schedules all supervisees. Handles medication oversight and supply, including prescription and over-the-counter medications; counts medications each shift per established procedure. Ensures clients have access to necessary medication and secures ordered medication from local pharmacies in a timely manner. Assists clients with medication self-administration, checks accuracy, and documents Medication Administration Records (MARs). Schedules client appointments (medical and other) and arranges transportation for off-campus appointments. Directly cares for residents in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort. Performs duties in accordance with SFRC policies and procedures. Maintains professionalism with clients and never enters personal relationships. Completes rounds at least every 15–30 minutes on all shifts. Ensures bedroom checks every 30 minutes on overnight shifts. Monitors and oversees client chores and laundry per daily schedule. Coordinates with an interdisciplinary team to inventory and order medical and programmatic supplies. Manages linens and other program supplies; maintains inventory and ensures clients sign out and return linens. Transports clients to appointments when appropriate (must be same gender). Maintains confidentiality per State and Federal law, SFRC code of ethics, and policies. Participates in regular chart reviews, quality assurance, BAC, and urine drug screens as required. Checks client vitals as needed and as requested by medical staff. Conducts daily charting of all clients. Provides formal teaching, consultation, and in-service training to professionals within the agency and with community partners. Attends seminars and workshops to maintain compliance with evidence-based modalities. Participates fully in program review, survey, site visits, and program evaluation. Understands and maintains HIPAA and 42CFR Part 2 confidentiality standards. Performs other special assignments and tasks as required by the Supervisor. Special Skills Highly effective oral and written communication with internal and external stakeholders. Observes and documents client progress. Knowledge of milieu operations and procedures; makes administrative and programmatic decisions with staff. Supervises and trains employees; organizes, prioritizes, and schedules work assignments. Prepares, maintains, and oversees patient records. Reacts calmly and effectively in emergency or crisis situations. Maintains quality, safety, and infection control standards. Computer experience, including Access, Word, and electronic medical records (EMR‑Bear). Solves unexpected problems while considering liability, precedent, and program impact. Maintains effective working relationships at all levels within the organization and with external stakeholders. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Medical Technician Certification. Endorsement by New Mexico Association for Infant Mental Health (IMH‑E)-Category I or above – preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Displays tact, patience, and discretion when dealing with residents, families, staff, and the public. Shows understanding and kindness toward residents and families. Maintains confidentiality of observations, conversations, and information. Computer literacy required for compliance and licensing requirements. Current valid NM Driver's License if responsible for transporting clients or running errands. Clean driving record and auto insurance. Maintains CPR and First Aid certification cards on file.
