Job Overview Under the direct supervision of the Director, Cancer Center at Community Medical Center, the Coordinator of oncology data services is responsible for cancer registry oversight. Qualifications Required High School Diploma/GED Training in medical terminology Licenses/Certification Required Certified Tumor Registrar Schedule Full-Time Days Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm Role will be predominantly on-site with the possibility of working remotely in a limited capacity. Essential Functions The coordinator ensures quality and timeliness of case finding, abstraction, and follow-up functions according to departmental procedures and regulatory cancer case reporting guidelines The coordinator is responsible for the education and training of staff and case abstraction to support timely submission The role also assists with cancer program accreditation and monitoring of compliance to accreditation standards Ensures accurate and timely data and/or reports requested by physicians Oversees the reporting of all appropriate cancer cases to state and federal agencies to ensure proper reporting as required Carefully reviews patient health records to record pertinent patient and tumor-related information as required by the state and federal regulations Acts as a resource for staff and others as needed Other Duties Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
