POSITION FUNCTION/PURPOSE In the absence of the regular campus nurse, the substitute nurse will provide daily care, administer medications and treatments. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Provide assessment and nursing care for ill and injured students Identify signs and symptoms of communicable disease and follow infectious disease control procedures. Demonstrate and utilize knowledge of drug and treatment protocols when administering medication and treatments. Inform principal, principal designee and Lead Nurse of health concerns noted on campus. Provide appropriate intervention for crisis situations. Serve as a resource person to students, families and staff as appropriate. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS LVN or RN in the state of Texas Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
