SUMMARY The purpose of a live hanger is to discern between live and dead chickens and hang the live ones on moving shackles. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Work in a fast paced setting hanging a live chicken weighing 2-5 pounds on every 5th shackle. Adhere to all George’s policies & procedures and all animal welfare laws & regulations. Be able to stand for several hours at a time. Work in a dimly lighted work area shoulder to shoulder with other employees. Be able to grasp a chicken at approximately waist level and hang a live chicken on a shackle at shoulder height. Be able to discern a live chicken from a dead chicken. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position will not have supervisory responsibility. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Required: none.
