Licensed Practical Nurse - SCI Waymart (Multiple Vacancies)

As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will perform the following duties: Vital Monitoring: Check vital signs, observe health changes, and report physical and emotional behaviors Medication Administration: Prepare and administer medications and document treatments as ordered Direct Care: Assist ambulatory and non ambulatory inmates with daily living needs and hygiene Emergency Response: Provide first aid, CPR, and AED support during medical emergencies Record Management: Record information in the electronic health record and prepare reports for transfers or release Equipment Care: Sterilize instruments, maintain supplies, and ensure treatment areas remain stocked Interested in learning more? The Department of Corrections is staffed by three (3) work shifts that cover the facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

1. st shift: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
2. nd shift: 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM
3. rd shift: 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM

Work hours TO BE DETERMINED Alternative work schedules may be available, depending on operational needs. This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55. QUALIFICATIONS

Necessary Special Requirements This position requires active authorization to practice as a Licensed Practice Nurse in Pennsylvania. All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing. Other Requirements PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title. If you are within 60 days of completing a licensed practical nursing program approved by the State Board of Nursing, you are eligible to apply for this job posting. At the time of appointment to a position, you must show proof of possession of a current, valid PA temporary practice permit or PA Licensed Practical Nurse license. Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
