Apply now to learn more about this role and join some of the best technical people in the world and work on projects you can be proud of!Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness DevelopmentAssist in strategic planning, identify specific opportunities, team partners, execute a pursuit of management process, ultimately winning key pursuits through hands-on involvement on key opportunitiesWrite and negotiate proposals with clients or reviewing agenciesParticipate in client functions, trade shows, and conferencesProject ManagementServe as Project Manager for large transportation infrastructure design projects encompassing a wide variety of roadway solutions ranging from bike and pedestrian facilities up to complex highway and roadway designResponsible for QA/QC and guiding project deliveryCoordinate with design teams, subconsultants and other project partners to ensure on time delivery, technical quality and work within budgetResponsible for the review and sealing of projects and supervising the work of other engineersResponsible for invoicing, managing and monitoring financial performance of project budgets using PM dashboardBuild, develop and maintain positive client relationshipsLiaise with clients, agencies and others to obtain and determine project requirements and approvalsLeadershipSupervise, lead, and mentor staffProvide technical leadership for ongoing design projects: Assist technically on complex projects and act as a technical resource by providing guidance to other team membersYour Capabilities and CredentialsExperience managing both large and small design projects for rural or urban highways and roadwaysExceptional leadership, communication, and team-building skillsStrong knowledge of Ohio Department of Transportation’s (ODOT's) legal requirements, design/planning procedures, and the Project Development ProcessProven success in developing new clients and maintaining strong client relationships, coordinating project pursuits and proposal preparationDemonstrated people leadership providing mentorship, guidance, day-to-day oversight of work, and recruitment of new talentAbility to check the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and scheduleUnderstanding of client expectations, budgeting, proposal writing, invoicing and collecting accounts receivableTechnical expert in all relevant areas of design and understanding of various design methodsExperience in relevant design software, which may include Bentley MicroStation, GEOPAK, and OpenRoads, along with AutoCAD and Civil3DProficient in Microsoft (MS) Office SuiteEducation and ExperienceBachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Civil Engineering is required.Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in the State of Ohio or ability to obtain within 6 months is required.Minimum of twenty (20) years of progressive engineering and project management experience in transportation projects is required.Alternative project delivery experience is preferred.Experience working with and/or licensure in other states is preferred.This description is not a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that may be required of the employee and other duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned or may be changed at any time with or without noticeAbout StantecStantec is a global leader in sustainable engineering, architecture, and environmental consulting. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
