Compensation: Starting at $75,000+ annually (based on experience) 

Position Overview

A well-established Connecticut law firm is seeking an experienced Personal Injury Paralegal to join its Waterbury-area office. This opportunity is best suited for a seasoned paralegal with significant plaintiff-side personal injury experience who is comfortable independently managing a busy caseload with limited supervision.

The ideal candidate understands the full lifecycle of a personal injury matter and can proactively keep cases moving from intake through settlement, litigation, and resolution.

Responsibilities

• Manage a substantial personal injury caseload with limited supervision
• Support motor vehicle accident and other personal injury matters from intake through resolution
• Maintain regular communication with clients and provide case updates
• Request, organize, and review medical records, bills, treatment documentation, and lien information
• Communicate with insurance companies, adjusters, medical providers, and other parties
• Draft and assist with demand packages, pleadings, discovery, correspondence, and other case-related documents
• Track case deadlines, treatment progress, records, and outstanding documentation
• Provide litigation support throughout discovery and case preparation
• Prepare files and supporting materials for mediation, arbitration, settlement negotiations, and trial
• Work closely with attorneys while independently identifying and completing necessary next steps
• Maintain organized and accurate case files and documentation

Qualifications

• 5+ years of substantive personal injury paralegal experience strongly preferred
• Significant experience with plaintiff-side personal injury matters
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage a personal injury caseload
• Experience supporting cases through both pre-litigation and litigation stages
• Strong knowledge of medical records, bills, liens, insurance claims, and settlement documentation
• Experience with pleadings, discovery, demand preparation, and trial support
• Connecticut personal injury experience highly preferred
• Workers’ compensation experience is a strong plus
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High level of accountability, attention to detail, and client service

Ideal Background

The strongest candidates will have meaningful, long-term experience working with an established plaintiff-side personal injury practice and will be comfortable taking ownership of their caseload. This position requires someone who understands what needs to happen next on a file and can move cases forward without requiring constant direction.
