Contract | Days | Expected 48 hours/week (36-hour schedules may be considered)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical/Surgical, Oncology, and Telemetry unit with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio, caring for patients with diagnoses including COPD, sepsis, pneumonia, UTI, AMS, pancreatitis, diverticulitis, various cancer diagnoses, and hospice
• Perform telemetry monitoring and independently read cardiac strips; centralized monitoring support is available
• Perform and manage tracheostomy care, PEG care, Foley catheter care, central line care, NGT, IV therapy, and O2 management
• Conduct thorough nursing assessments, develop and maintain nursing care plans, and provide patient and family education
• Administer medications accurately and document care using the EPIC electronic health records system; EPIC experience is required as this role supports an EPIC conversion
• Float as needed between two nearby campuses (approximately 16 minutes apart); this position is first to float

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in good standing
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Must pass the Basic Dysrhythmia exam (minimum score of 83%) prior to contract start; up to three attempts permitted
• EPIC electronic health records experience required
• Candidates must not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any facility within the CommonSpirit Health system, including CHI and/or Dignity Health, within the past year; candidates placed PRN through outside staffing firms may be considered

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Meditech electronic health records
• Background in oncology or hospice nursing
• Familiarity with CPAP equipment and respiratory support management
