Position Title Educational Interpreter for Summer Academy 2026 - Deaf and Hard of Hearing Job Details Position Type: Summer School/ ESY Teacher Date Posted: 6/15/2026 Location: Poquoson City Public Schools Responsibilities Facilitates communication for assigned student(s) who are deaf, hard of hearing or blind/deaf so that they can participate in the educational setting and access the general education curriculum. Work with individual students who are deaf, hard of hearing or deaf/blind, translating spoken and written information into sign language. Provide interpreting services for educational meetings, athletic events, extracurricular activities and graduation as assigned. Provide tutorial services for assigned students when necessary. Work closely with Exceptional and General Education teachers, case managers, and other interpreters to ensure a good environment and sound curriculum experiences and activities. Attend parent-teacher conferences and IEP meetings as needed. Perform other related duties as assigned. Consult with Elementary School or Student Services staff as needed, including notification of any absences (in advance when possible).
