Job Summary
The Student Assistant will support the Academic Success Center as a Peer Tutor on the Swainsboro Campus beginning Fall 2026. Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period.
Responsibilities
Assists students by answering subject-specific questions Assists students in identifying and overcoming mechanical problems Works with students to improve problem-solving skills Assists students with a variety of class assignments including essays if applicable Works within the Academic Success Center in the Academic Center for Excellence on the Swainsboro campus and virtually as assigned Assists students in any Math, Science, and English Courses Shift Specifics Up to 20 hours per week Flexible with schedule of availability Must be available to work at least 10 hours per week Must attend mandatory staff orientation meeting and subsequent training sessions
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours or three or more graduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.
Proposed Salary
$12.50 per hour This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
