For over 80 years , American Scale has been a leader in commercial and industrial weighing systems. We are looking for a dependable, mechanically inclined  Scale Service Technician to join our Irwindale team.

As a Scale Service Technician, you'll travel throughout Southern California in a company-provided Ford F-250 pickup truck servicing commercial scales up to 5,000 lbs. Our customers include food manufacturers, medical facilities, recycling centers, laboratories, warehouses, manufacturers, and many other industries.

What You'll Do

• Install, inspect, calibrate, and repair commercial scales
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electronic weighing equipment
• Complete service work orders using Microsoft Windows
• Interface with scale software and peripheral equipment
• Learn California Weights & Measures regulations and NIST Handbook 44
• Build relationships with customers and recommend new equipment when appropriate
• Represent American Scale with professionalism and outstanding customer service

What You'll Need

• Valid California Driver License with a clean driving record
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Windows)
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently

Experience With These Is a Plus

• Electrical troubleshooting
• Industrial maintenance
• Calibration or instrumentation
• Low-voltage wiring
• Forklift operation
• Customer service or light sales
