• Hours per Week: 24
• Duration: 13-week contract

Key Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a phlebotomist in a high-volume inpatient or hospital setting
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Phlebotomy certification preferred (CPT, ASCP, or state equivalent)
• Proficient in venipuncture and capillary collection across pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients
• Experience with specimen labeling, chain-of-custody, and Laboratory Information Systems (LIS)
• Strong communication, interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and commitment to infection control and patient safety

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate venipuncture and capillary blood collection using proper technique and infection-control practices
• Label, prepare, and process specimens for laboratory analysis and ensure timely transport to the clinical lab
• Maintain patient comfort, privacy (HIPAA), and a compassionate bedside manner during collections
• Coordinate with nursing and laboratory staff to prioritize and complete inpatient draws efficiently
• Document collections and results in the LIS and follow quality-control procedures
• Adhere to biohazard handling, safety protocols, and institutional policies at all times
