Part Time Professional Hamilton, OH, US Parent Peer Support Specialist- 20 hours a week Turn Your Experience Into Support for Other Families Best Point Education & Behavioral Health is looking for aParent Peer Support Specialist who can use their own lived experience as a caregiver to help other families navigate behavioral health and mental health systems. In this role, you’ll walk alongside parents and caregivers as someone who understands the challenges of caring for a child with behavioral health needs. You’ll provide encouragement, advocacy, connections to community resources, and one‑on‑one support while helping families identify goals and build confidence navigating systems of care. What You'll Do Use yourlived experience as a caregiverto build trust and provide peer support to families Serve as a liaison and advocate for caregivers, helping connect them with appropriate services and resources Provide one‑on‑one consultation to help caregivers identify goals and navigate systems of care Partner with theMobile Response and Stabilization Services (MRSS)team to engage caregivers in recommended services Help families identify, access, and strengthen natural supports and community resources Build positive working relationships with service providers, schools, community organizations, and other family supports Support families in navigating available behavioral health and community-based services Complete required documentation accurately and within established timeframes Meet agency productivity expectations Actively participate as a collaborative and positive member of the MRSS/Crisis Department Maintain proficiency in the electronic health record system Respond with flexibility and initiative as family and program needs evolve Follow Best Point policies, procedures, and professional standards Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications: Lived experience as a caregiver for a child with behavioral health challenges and/or a mental health diagnosis High school diploma Strong communication, relationship-building, and engagement skills Ability to travel to work locations and throughout the community Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable auto insurance Benefits & Compensation We believe taking care of our employees is essential to taking care of our community. Services may be provided in homes, schools, community settings, and mental health treatment environments. The role requires the ability to provide mobile services using your own vehicle. You may work with children experiencing behavioral challenges and may encounter situations involving heightened emotions, shouting, or children who are upset.
