Job Title

Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Weekdays, Some Weekends & Holidays

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced Emergency Room setting
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for emergency patients across varying acuity levels
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure timely and effective patient outcomes
• Accurately document patient care activities using the facility's electronic charting system
• Maintain BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications and adhere to all unit-specific clinical protocols
• Participate in weekend and holiday rotation as required by unit needs

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room RN experience required; travel nursing experience required
• Active West Virginia RN license or valid Compact state license required; pending license accepted for submission
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required — must be through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Must be willing to work weekends and holidays; shift grouping will be attempted when possible but is not guaranteed
• Flu vaccine required; medical exemptions considered with a signed physician's note and completion of the facility's exemption request form — religious exemptions are not accepted
• Must live more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible; candidates between 75–100 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Cerner electronic health records system
• Familiarity with AllScripts or McKesson charting platforms
• Strong ability to prioritize and manage high patient volumes in an emergency care environment
