Assembly TechnicianWorking as Part-time Assembly Technician, you will work in our FMI (Fastenal Managed Inventory) Technology Service Center, performing various operational and administrative activities. You will assemble, recondition and test components and devices associated with our industrial vending, bin systems and other FMI technology devices. You will be responsible for printing, inspecting, applying and scanning labels and assisting with ordering, stocking, picking and shipping inventory.The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:Assembling, cleaning, reconditioning and testing components and devices using work instructionsPreparing devices for shipment to the customerDisassembling devices and placing parts in their appropriate locationsPrinting, inspecting, adhering and scanning labelsPackaging and shipping completed productsAssisting with ordering, stocking, maintaining and picking inventoryMaintaining quality and efficiencies while providing for continual departmental improvementsCommunicating with the department manager and Fastenal team membersMaintaining a clean and safe work environmentComplying with safety regulationsThe following skills and qualifications are required for this position:18 years of age or older, due to the nature of workExcellent written and oral communication skillsProficient computer skillsExhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skillsLearn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environmentHighly motivated, self directed and customer service orientedWork independently as well as in a team environmentDemonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilitiesDemonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamworkLift, slide, carry and lower packages that typically weigh 25lbs-50lbs and may weigh up to 75lbsPass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)Since 1967 Fastenal has grown as a distributor of industrial and construction supplies from a single branch to a Fortune 500 company with over 3,000 servicing locations, each providing tailored local inventory and personal service for our customers.
