Solid Surface FabricatorVolumod (Vol-U-mod) is a multi-family modular construction company located on the Far East Side of Indianapolis, Indiana. Volumod's team of more than 100 skilled professionals builds apartment buildings and other multi-family housing in sections - called modules - within a heated-and-cooled facility. On the factory floor, each home moves through 20 different stations, including framing, electrical, plumbing, flooring, drywall, siding, roofing, and interior finish, with kitchens and bathrooms installed, to produce a home that is 90% complete! The modules are then transported by semi truck, and lifted with a crane to form multifamily communities. Will you join us?Position SummaryVolumod is expanding its cabinet and millwork division on the far east side of Indianapolis, IN, and is looking for a dependable Solid Surface Fabricator to help keep production running smoothly. The Solid Surface Fabricator is responsible for assembling/seaming machined parts, and finishing solid surface countertops and related components according to specifications, quality standards, and production schedules. This role requires precision, craftsmanship, and adherence to safety and quality procedures.Key ResponsibilitiesMeasure, cut, shape, and fabricate solid surface materials using saws, routers, hand toolsRead and interpret shop drawings, and blueprintsPerform seam joining, sanding, polishing, and finishing to meet quality standardsAssemble countertops, backsplashes, sinks, and custom componentsInspect completed products for accuracy, appearance, and structural integrityRepair or rework products as needed to meet specificationsMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work areaFollow all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirementsCommunicate production issues, material needs, and quality concerns to supervisionMeet daily/weekly production goals and timelinesPhysical RequirementsLift up to 50 lbs regularly (team lift for heavier materials)Stand for extended periods throughout the shiftFrequent bending, reaching, and material handlingWork EnvironmentIndoor manufacturing and woodworking shopExposure to machinery, wood/manufacturing dust, and fabrication materialsPPE required, including safety glasses, hearing protection, and glovesBenefitsVolumod offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package designed to support our employees' health, financial well-being, and work-life balance.
