Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: ER Holding Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Pending License accepted Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Telemetry, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias Description: The RN will work in a fast-paced environment. This unit functions as an admission unit next to an Emergency Department. It serves as a holding unit for admitted patients. RNs will begin the inpatient standard of care until patients can be placed in progressive care. The unit requires the ability to handle frequent admissions and discharges. Ratios are 1 nurse to 4-5 patients. The facility has 17 beds and up to 8 hall beds. RNs must be able to monitor and interpret telemetry. They should manage a variety of medical equipment effectively. Time management skills are essential. The patient population is diverse, covering all specialties except for ICU-level patients. Relief charge may be required. The RN must be willing to take on relief charge as needed. Floating to different inpatient areas, including the ICU for sub-acute care assignments, is required. The upcoming unit structure change includes creating two distinct 24-bed units. One unit will focus on primary medicine patients. The other unit will serve as an observation and throughput unit.
