Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Qualifications and Desired Background:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in American Sign Language (ASL), Interpreting, or a related field
• National certification such as Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID-NIC) or Board for Evaluation of Interpreters (BEI)
• Experience working in educational settings preferred
• Strong understanding of interpreting protocols and Deaf culture
• Ability to adapt communication styles to various age groups and settings
• Commitment to ethical interpreting practices and confidentiality

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide real-time interpretation between students, teachers, and staff to support classroom learning
• Ensure accurate, impartial, and confidential communication
• Collaborate with educators and support staff to enhance student participation
• Manage multiple assignments and adjust to changing daily needs
• Participate in two-part onboarding and ongoing compliance processes as required by the district
