Description

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Oncology RN for a night shift position at a Magnet, Level I Trauma teaching hospital requiring BMT/Cellular Therapy experience.

Details

Pediatric Oncology unit providing Intermediate Level of Care to patients ages 0-18, with select diagnoses followed up to age 25

Patient diagnoses include leukemia, brain tumors, bone tumors, sarcoma, lymphomas, blood diseases, immunological diseases, storage diseases, Bone Marrow Transplants, and Graft vs Host Disease

Provides support to Hem/Onc/BMT patients on other units, including chemotherapy support and central line care

Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30)

Weekend requirement

No on-call requirements

Floating required within the hospital, but not to sister hospitals

EPIC charting system used

Located at a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma Center, teaching hospital

No prints scrubs required; scrubs provided for OR

Requirements

Active RN license required; OR license required for consideration

BLS and PALS certifications required

Chemotherapy/biotherapy provider card from APHON or ONS required

APHON certification required; BMTCN and CPHON preferred

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

BMT/Cellular Therapy experience required

Pediatric oncology experience required

EPIC charting experience required for consideration

Skills required include administration of chemotherapy, body fluid handling post-chemotherapy, bone marrow transplant care, management of oncologic emergencies, monitoring chemotherapy, neutropenic precautions, symptom management, IV therapy/phlebotomy, port care, central line/implanted line care, and pediatric dosage calculations

Conscious sedation experience preferred

COVID vaccination proof required with no exemptions accepted

Additional Information

Provide oncology nursing care including chemotherapy administration, symptom management, and central line/port care for pediatric patients

Support Hem/Onc/BMT patients across other hospital units as needed

Refusal to float as requested may result in contract cancellation

First-time travelers accepted with 3+ years of experience

Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restriction

RTO limited to a maximum of 1 week and must be submitted upfront

Former employees or previous travelers at this facility must have a 6+ month gap before returning

Pending RN license accepted if application has been submitted to the licensing board
