Work Environment

The role is primarily an onsite position within our state-of-the-art facility located in Gaithersburg, Maryland. You will work a schedule consisting of four ten-hour shifts during the weekdays, allowing for a balanced work-life dynamic while avoiding weekend duties. Key Responsibilities

As a Pain Management Nurse Practitioner, you will be responsible for a variety of critical tasks that enhance patient care:

• Conduct comprehensive patient histories and physical examinations to assess pain conditions.
• Order and perform relevant diagnostic tests, interpret results, and implement appropriate therapeutic procedures, such as physical therapy.
• Formulate diagnostic impressions and develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and preferences.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions, adjusting strategies as required.
• Provide counseling and education to patients regarding their conditions, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications.
• Communicate and coordinate referrals to specialists to ensure integrated care for complex cases.
• Perform therapeutic injections, including trigger point injections and joint injections, utilizing ultrasound guidance as necessary.
• Manage incoming medication refill requests and maintain authorization protocols.
• Review and respond to radiology and laboratory reports to enhance clinical decision-making.
• Participate in after-hours on-call rotations, contributing to continuity of care beyond normal clinic hours.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications:

• Board-certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult Nurse Practitioner.
• Hold a Doctorate in Nurse Practitioner Studies (DNP or equivalent).
• At least one year of clinical experience in pain management is preferred.
• Current and unrestricted DEA license for prescribing medications.
• Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification.
• Strong aptitude for utilizing electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
• Familiarity with OSHA, FDA, and HIPAA compliance regulations.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• A friendly, compassionate demeanor, with a commitment to outstanding patient care.

Preferred Experience

While one year of pain management experience is preferred, candidates with backgrounds in acute care or chronic disease management will also be considered. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus, as it enhances communication with our diverse patient base.

Compensation and Benefits
