Senior Software Engineer - Integration

Role Description

We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer – Integrations on the Enterprise API Services team at BCBST! In this role, you will build and support enterprise APIs that connect critical applications across the organization. You’ll work across the full API lifecycle by partnering with application teams to design and deliver integration solutions, while also supporting production environments through incident response, release management, and deployments. Your work will directly impact the reliability, scalability, and stability of enterprise services, with opportunities to drive continuous improvement in API performance, governance, and overall platform health.

• This role includes participation in an on-call rotation (one full week approximately every six weeks) and after-hours deployment activities.
• This is a remote, work-from-home position, but the final round of interviews will take place on-site in our Chattanooga, TN office.
• Candidates must be able to work EST hours.
• Sponsorship is not available for this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a Computer Sciences related field or equivalent work experience (4 years of professional work experience in a corporate environment).
• 5 years - Systems and programming experience required.
• 1 year - Experience with information technology concepts, application development methodology, terminology, and standards required.
• 1 year - Expert working knowledge of at least one programming language in use at BCBST.

Requirements

• Proven technical background with a history of designing and documenting integration solutions, ensuring interoperability, security, and performance.
• Proficient in programming languages and tools relevant to integration and application development.
• Experienced in API design, development, and management.
• Proven analysis, design, and coding skills, and demonstrated success in leading large and complex projects.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret and translate technical and/or complex concepts into information meaningful to project team members and/or business personnel.
• Be organized, reliable, and able to manage multiple tasks with exceptional work ethic.
• Leadership skills: Must be able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical co-workers.
